ESSEX COUNTY
Essex County is situated in the northeastern part of New Jersey. It is bordered by the Passaic River to the west, and its neighboring counties are Bergen County to the north, Hudson County to the east, and Union County to the southwest.
Essex County is home to several institutions of higher education, including Rutgers University-Newark, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), and Seton Hall University School of Law.
Essex County is rich in cultural and historical sites. The Newark Museum is the largest museum in the state and houses a vast collection of art and artifacts from around the world. Additionally, the Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange preserves the laboratory and home of inventor Thomas Edison.
